Q: What can I do to mod my 2009 Honda Accord LX-P?
I just bought a new honda accord, and it only has 179 HP. I want to add some power to the car, but I dont know where to start exactly. Do I go with a Cold Air Intake, headers, or what? And if you have any suggestions on making the exterior look sportier, (grills, rims) please tell me. Thanks

A: A cold air intake is a good option and usually don't void the warranty. An exhaust would also help but would void the warranty. If you want some performance and not worried about the warranty go for the cold air and full exhaust. A turbo kit will get you a lot of performance, but cost is usually a issue. I'm not really into exterior looks much, but a set of 08 civic si rims would look good providing they are the same lug pattern which I'm pretty sure they are. If you're still not sure go see a local performance shop (not pep boys auto zone etc).

Q: How is the sound system on the 2009 Honda Accord Coupe LX-S?
Does it have good bass and thump? Also do the speakers sound clear?

A: None of the Accords come with good bass. Best to change out the rear 6 X 9's when you get it. The fronts are usually not too shabby, since they do use separates in the front (in EX's). Typically EX gets an upgrade on speakers, not LX, so you should definitely look into getting some aftermarket speakers.

A: You didn't specify the coupe or the sedan but I think Honda is finally making cars that look as good as they are reliable. I prefer the sedan to the coupe.

A: eBay is the best place to buy any body kit parts for any car. I have surfed the different options out there. Other sites may seem cheaper but their shipping and handling charges are outrageous. On eBay, you have a wide variety and the prices all add up to a cheaper price than you would find elsewhere. The BEST thing to do though, is to find a warehouse in your neighborhood that sells these type of things and purchase it there. That way, you do not have to pay for shipping & handling (which makes a huge difference). I know we have a few here in NY.

A: All new Accords, no matter trim level, come with an i-VTEC engine (NOT VTECH -they make phones). It should have a decal on the engine cover, if it doesn't, take it back to the dealer.

A: Hey, Congrats....I think you were looking at the Corolla a couple of days ago, right? I know the Accord is a little more expensive, but it should last you a decade or more if you need it to and take care of it. I agree with Papa. go to tirerack.com. You can actually see what they would look like on your model and color of vehicle. There are so many wheel and rim manufacturers out there. Make sure that you check the weight of the rims and that you take into account the fact that if you are changing wheel sizes (17 to 18 for example), you will also need new tires. You also have to take into account that the bigger/heavier wheels are going to negatively affect your suspension and gas mileage. You will also need to get your brakes replaced more frequently.

Q: GPS for a Honda Accord 2009 LX?
I just bought a 09 Accord and I bought it without the gps, instead in that slit it has a small screen for the clock.I'm not the most educated on gps right now. Now when I want to go ahead and add the gps in there could I go anywhere to by it or would I have to go back to the dealership. I don't know if anyone is familiar with the interior but the 6 disc Cd is a built in and right about it is another built it where initially the gps would have gone. A: I do not have navigation in my 2009 Honda Accord either. Instead, I use a portable Garmin GPS which cost me $200 and is better than the factory GPS anyway. The GPS fits perfectly on the dashboard above the clock and can get a good signal in the long windshield that the car has. I just bought the 2009 Honda Accord LX. After listening to music thru CD for 30 min and eject the cd for replace to another cd, I have just realize the CD temperature is so hot to touch. Not sure if it is normal. It should not be cold. I want to here other poeple's opinion as well prior to go to customer service.

A: Its not that big of a deal, as long as you can touch them without being burnt they are good. But its normal for them to be hot.

Hi, I have a 2009 Honda Accord LX-P. I would like to purchase 18" wheels for it. I have never done anything like that before so I am little confused. I went to the Honda dealer but they are giving me a runaround and suggest purchasing wheels from them, which are very expensive. Does anyone know what bolt pattern I need and what is the max or min width of the rim. Do you know any websites where I can find some nice deals? A: If you're looking for an invoice price for a new car, you only need to ask the dealer for the invoice. Or make an offer of $100 or $200 over the invoice price of the car. If they bring you a price of the car and no invoice, ask to see it. More often than not, they will show you the invoice. If they refuse, get up and leave. You'll be able to find the same car somewhere else that will show you the invoice. If you're not willing to walk away if they won't give you what you want, then you are already paying to much before you even started. If you're looking at used vehicles, however, you need to study and look around. The invoice price is only applicable for a new car. If they try to use the sticker price on a used car, they're trying to scam you into paying too much.

A: I wouldn't go with any of them, try purchasing a nissan or a toyota reason why is that honda dealers tend to charge you extra for no reason. We bought a 2009 Honda accord LX which should be 16 grand but we ended up paying 19,500 which was a complete rip-off, we sold it later on. Go with nissan for honda like features, reliable if you drive it normally, same with Toyota. Toyota for fuel economy. Good luck!!!!
