Q: Why would the AC stop blowing in a 2003 Honda Accord?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord LX and all of a sudden the AC stopped blowing. I took it to a mechanic and he said it's not the compressor or the fan motor, but he can't tell me exactly what it is. He wants to order a part for $300, but I don't know what good that would do if he can't say what the problem is specifically. Any suggestions as to what I need to get my AC working again?
A: First of all, the mechanic is trying to rip you off. Ever see the movie "The Mask"? Remember the mechanics? That's this guy. I don't know why your A/C wouldn't work but whatever you do don't go to the mechanic your going to now. Get a second opinion. Someone with a good reputation. If you check the fuse box it should be under the dash to the left of your left foot on the driver's side, and the other one which will have the A/c fan in it is under the hood on the right side if your in the car looking out the front.
Q: What's causing a transmission problem with my 2003 Honda Accord?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord EX V6 sedan with the five-speed automatic transmission. My car has developed a shifting problem. Sometimes it shifts very roughly. Other times it doesn't shift at all, or the engine revs and it feels like it can't find the gear. Tonight the check engine light came on and the D4 light started blinking, but I haven't had a chance to get it scanned yet to find out what the trouble codes are.
A: The best way to be sure of any transmission issue is to have a qualified transmission mechanic diagnose the problem. If your D4 light is flashing, you definitely have a tranny issue. To continue to drive it, will further damage it.
Q: Will 2002 parts work on my 2003 Honda Accord?
Ive been searching for performance parts for my 2003 Honda Accord for a while now, and most of the parts I find only go up to 2002, there are very few parts that I can find that are specifically for 2003, will the 2002 parts work on my 2003 Accord?
A: No, the 03 is larger and uses completely different motors, little to nothing will work.
Q: How much should a 2003 Honda Accord cost?
Im going to be driving soon and i want a 4 door 2003 honda accord. i know that dealers will sell it for 10 times the price so i want to know how much it would cost if i went to the car auction or a private seller?
thanks
A: Private seller would be best choice. It was helpful if you have wrote what model of Accord and millage for the car. But car will cost under $6000
Q: Has anybody had this issue with their 2003 honda accord?
I just bought a 2003 honda accord with 107000 mile on it and the gears of the transmission (2-3) seem to stick. The gear doesn't let go. Also the TCS light is on. Any ideas
A: I have a 2003 V-6 coupe that I had to have the transmission replaced for that problem. It was replaced at 90k and honda paid for part of the repair. Honda had problems with the V-6 transmissions from 1999-2003. They extended the warranty on the transmission on the 1999-2000 models.
there was also a recall on the 2003 for a problem with 2nd gear burning. if that recall wasn't done then that's the place to start because they were replacing the transmissions at no charge if the gear was burned. recalls don't apply to the owner; just to the car so it doesn't matter that you purchased the car used.
sounds like that's the reason the owner sold the car.
as for the TCS, the TCS (traction control system) works by cutting out cylinders to reduce engine power to restore traction. anytime there is a reduction of engine power the TCS control unit is fooled into thinking the TCS is engaged so it puts the light on. The TCS could be triggered by an engine misfire or possibly by the transmission problem.
I'd recommend you take the car to a dealer and have them check to see if the recall applies to your vehicle and get that done first if it does. then pay them for a diagnosis of the trans problem and you can make a decision on where to go from there.
my guess is the trans will have to be replaced based on my experience with my car.
hope that helps
Q: 2003 Honda Accord automatic transmission problem?
My 2003 Honda Accord V-6 has a automatic transmission problem. The car works fine in 1st, 2nd and Drive but it won't shift into the D-3 gear. If you lock it in 2nd and accelerate up to 40 MPH and then put it into Drive and let off it will slowly shift into Drive. After you are in Drive it will shift down to D-3
for passing. Does anyone know what the problem is and is it a simple fix or do I need a complete transmission rebuild?
A: replace the shift soleniolds on the trans it sounds like your 2-3 soleniod is bad
Q: Honda Accord 2003 air vent dust problem?
I have a 2003 Honda Accord. The car is just pushing 90k and in good condition. However, when I turn the air or the A/C on, a dusty smell comes through the vents. I bought a new cabin filter and replaced the old one, but the smell still occasionally comes through. Any ideas on how to clear this up? Another filter that needs to be changed?
I've tried turning it on high and opening the windows, but the dust smell continues to come out.
A: That is the only cabin filter in the car.It should be a large size filter, some models might have 2 smaller sized ones, size by side. Both are located behind the glove box.Sometimes if the filter was pretty bad, you might have other debris that never got caught.try turning your blower on high and see if it cycles it through and stops after awhile.
Q: What to do about a 2003 Honda Accord Transmission Failure?
Apparently this year is notorious for transmission defects. Ive done a little research and its clear this is a manufacturers defect. Ive contacted Honda and they said they would pay half of the replacement but my portion is still 1,600 plus tax. Is this a good deal, are they paying enough? is there a class action suit against them?
A: There was a class action suit for this problem and Honda paying half of the repair is the result of that suit. For a car that's 7 years old is a good deal. The best thing u can do is call different transmission places were u live and ask about the price for repairs and the warranty after the repair. Here were I live is from 2,800 to 3,800 dollars. Another important thing is that when Honda fixes your trans they send a new trans with updated parts so u don't have this problem again, other shops don't. Hope this helps, Good luck!
