Honda did a check up on my car (2001 Honda Accord) and they said my timing belt needs to be replaced for $2,000. My car has 110,000 miles. How much should it cost to be replaced? $2,000 seems like a rip off to me.

A: What engine? V-6? With water pump too? Coolant/radiator flush? If they do it right and COMPLETE? Sounds about right. If it's a four cylinder and they only replace the belt, then it's about $600.

A: The Honda 4 cyl is designed for economy, not performance (I also have an 01 LX Accord 4-cyl). You many be able to mess with it a bit, bit it is hardly worth it. By the time you get done wasting time and money, you may gain 1 HP - not worth the effort, and you may affect something else. You are not going to turn the car into a dragster. I'd say leave it alone. Your resale value will also stay high if you keep it stock. No one wants to buy a hacked used car.

A: if you lock then unlock the door with the remote it should cancel the alarm. or, if you don't have a functional remote, you can unlock the driver's door with a key (or re-lock then open the door with the key). either way should cancel the alarm hope that helps

A: OEM Honda one. I'm a Honda tech and honestly have little exprience with aftermarket O2 sensors. I know that you will never have any problems with a honda part. If you do go aftermarket dont get the cheapest thing you can find cause it will probably fail. What is the reason you are replacing it? If you have a check engine light on for a heater circuit failure check the wiring at the sensor. Ive seen quite a few that a wire had backed out a little bit and wa able to snap back into place without the need for a new sensor. Good luck./

A: a good, reliable website with name brand turbos is - andysautosport.com I would recommend a skunk2 turbo just my preference.. if you can I would build the turbo custom to your car piece by piece.. as kits cannot compare.. however they will still add a lot of performance.. FYI if you buy a name brand turbo that is reliable you're looking at $2800-5000. don't consider buying a $300-1000 ebay turbo.. you'll not only break it, you'll wreck your engine.

Q: Transmission Problem On A 2001 Honda Accord. Can Anybody Help?
My 2001 Honda Accord runs great, but if the car has been sitting for more than about 6 hours the transmission slips between 1st and 2nd gear. It only does this the first and sometimes second time I accelerate, then it runs flawless and smooth. The mechanic says nothing is wrong with it, but I was wondering if anybody has had this problem and what they did to remedy it? It is a 4 speed automatic transmission. Any suggestions would help. Thanks. Oh, the car has 98,000 miles on it.

My 2001 Honda Accord airconditioner is making noise from under the glovebox. It doesn't actually matter if the airconditioner is on or just the fan, doesn't even matter if the car is running. The higher level I put the fan on, the more intense the sound gets. Not sure if the compresser is under there but it almost sounds like a fan making the sound. No idea. Any advice?
